An elongated “goal” is also an apt victory shout for The Ranch Presents Pitch Live, what is sure to be the hottest, most exciting hospitality project during Houston’s monthlong World Cup moment. In terms of goal, the partners certainly scored one by envisioning and then building out a western-themed dining/drinking/live music and entertainment extravaganza staged in East Downtown for the 39-day span of World Cup action.
The project unites Benjamin Berg of Berg Hospitality Group, nightlife sorcerer Army Sadeghi (Clarkwood, Melrose, 1111), and Houston Dynamo legend Brian Ching. Together they will operate The Ranch Presents Pitch Live out of the former Warehouse Live music venue at 813 St. Emanuel in EaDo. The location is as golden as the World Cup trophy: it’s across from Ching’s Pitch 25 soccer bar and at the doorstep of the official FIFA Fan Festival site near Shell Energy Stadium.
Think of this large-scale hospitality concept as a soccer version of Berg’s game-changing The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse that rocked the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for four consecutive years. Visitors can expect three distinct venues under one roof: a grand main stage open to the general public with multiple bars, food menu, and entertainment programming; a second smaller stage requiring ticketed admission with more elevated food and beverage options; and a VIP lounge with its own menu and private entrance. The venue’s entertainment level is high: Grammy-winning global music powerhouse Diplo will perform on June 11.
The Ranch Presents Pitch Live will open daily at 10 a.m., meeting early demands for pre-match revelry: a high-energy pregame destination for dining and drinking for fans who can watch every move from banks of televisions broadcasting matches from around the world. Whether you want a quick beer or indulgent bottle service, a hot dog or caviar, The Ranch is your playground.
